Welcome to Intrvuer ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our interview preparation platform at intrvuer.com (the "Service").

By using Intrvuer, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our Service.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address - Used for authentication and account-related communications
  • Name - Used to personalize your experience
  • User ID - A unique identifier assigned to your account
  • Authentication credentials - Securely managed through our authentication provider (Supabase)

We support multiple authentication methods:

  • Email and password registration
  • Google OAuth
  • GitHub OAuth

Uploaded Content

When you use our Service, you may provide:

  • Resume files - PDF or DOCX documents containing your professional background
    • Original file and filename
    • Parsed content including: personal information, work experience, education, skills, and achievements
    • File metadata (size, upload date)
  • Job descriptions - Text describing positions you're preparing for
    • Raw text content
    • Extracted details: job title, company name, requirements, responsibilities, required skills

Session Data

During interview and quiz practice sessions, we collect:

  • Interview sessions - Metadata about your practice sessions including type, status, and timestamps
  • Interview responses - Your spoken answers transcribed to text
  • Audio recordings - Temporary audio data for transcription (processed and not permanently stored)
  • Audio duration - Length of your recorded responses
  • Quiz responses - Your answers to quiz questions (multiple choice selections and text responses)
  • AI-generated feedback - Scores, suggestions, and analysis of your responses

Technical and Usage Data

We automatically collect:

  • IP address - For security and audit purposes
  • User agent - Browser and device information
  • Request logs - API access patterns for service operation
  • Timestamps - When actions occur within the Service

Local Storage

Our frontend application uses browser local storage to:

  • Maintain authentication state
  • Store user preferences (such as theme settings)

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  1. Provide the Service - Process your resume and job descriptions to generate personalized interview questions and quizzes
  2. Generate AI feedback - Analyze your responses to provide improvement suggestions
  3. Transcribe audio - Convert your spoken answers to text for analysis
  4. Improve your experience - Track your progress and provide performance reports
  5. Maintain security - Detect and prevent unauthorized access through audit logging
  6. Communicate with you - Send service-related notifications via email when necessary

AI and Automated Processing

Intrvuer uses artificial intelligence to power its core features. Here's how your data is processed:

Large Language Models (LLMs)

We use LLM providers to:

  • Parse and analyze resume content
  • Generate interview questions tailored to your background and target job
  • Create quiz questions based on job requirements
  • Evaluate your responses and provide feedback
  • Generate improvement suggestions

LLM Providers:

  • OpenAI (GPT-4o-mini or similar models)
  • Groq (Llama models)

Data sent to LLMs:

  • Resume content (parsed text, not files)
  • Job description text
  • Your interview/quiz responses
  • Question context

LLM providers process this data according to their respective privacy policies. We do not send raw personal identifiers (like email addresses) to LLMs unless they appear in your resume content.

Speech-to-Text (Transcription)

When you record audio responses, we use transcription services to convert speech to text:

Transcription Provider:

  • Deepgram (cloud-based)

Audio data is processed transiently for transcription and is not permanently stored by transcription providers.

Text-to-Speech (TTS)

For the interviewer's spoken questions, we use:

  • Deepgram Aura voices (cloud-based)
  • Kokoro TTS (local, when configured)

Only the question text is sent to TTS providers.

Cookies and Tracking

Our Service uses:

  • Session cookies - Managed by our authentication provider (Supabase) for maintaining login state
  • Local storage - For persisting user preferences client-side

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

Data Retention

We retain your data according to the following schedule:

Data Security

We implement security measures to protect your information:

  • Encryption in transit - All data transmitted via HTTPS/TLS
  • Field-level encryption - Sensitive data (resume content, transcripts, feedback) can be encrypted at rest using AES-128-CBC with HMAC (Fernet)
  • Password security - Authentication handled by Supabase with industry-standard practices
  • Access controls - JWT-based authentication with token expiration
  • Audit logging - User actions are logged for security monitoring
  • Database security - SSL connections supported for database access

Children's Privacy

Intrvuer is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. When we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure your information receives adequate protection. By using our Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

Access Your Data

You can export a copy of all your personal data, including your resumes and interview transcripts, in a machine-readable format (JSON or ZIP). This option is available in your Account Settings under the "Data & Privacy" section.

Correct Your Data

You can update your profile information and upload new resumes to replace outdated information.

Delete Your Data

You can request deletion of your data through your Account Settings:

  • Individual resumes - Remove specific resumes from the Resume Management section
  • All your data - Use the "Delete Account" option in the Data & Privacy section

Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Upon deletion:

  • All resumes and their files are removed
  • All interview and quiz sessions are deleted
  • All job descriptions are removed
  • An audit log of the deletion is retained for compliance purposes

Data Portability

You can export your data in machine-readable JSON format using the export feature in your Account Settings.

View Retention Policy

You can view the current data retention settings applicable to your account in the Data & Privacy section of your Account Settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

  • Posting the new policy on this page
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top
  • Sending an email notification for material changes (if we have your email)
