Introduction

Welcome to Intrvuer ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our interview preparation platform at intrvuer.com (the "Service").

This policy describes processing needed to operate your account and the additional AI and voice processing you can choose. Using Intrvuer alone does not grant AI permission permission. You can decline it and still access history, Settings, export and deletion.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address - Used for authentication and account-related communications
• Name - Used to personalize your experience
• User ID - A unique identifier assigned to your account
• Authentication credentials - Securely managed through our authentication provider (Supabase)

We support multiple authentication methods:

• Email and password registration
• Google OAuth
• GitHub OAuth

Uploaded Content

When you use our Service, you may provide:

• Resume files - PDF or DOCX documents containing your professional background
  • Original file and filename
  • Parsed content including: personal information, work experience, education, skills, and achievements
  • File metadata (size, upload date)
• Job descriptions - Text describing positions you're preparing for
  • Raw text content
  • Extracted details: job title, company name, requirements, responsibilities, required skills

Session Data

During interview practice sessions, we collect:

• Interview sessions - Metadata about your practice sessions including type, status, and timestamps
• Interview responses - Your spoken answers transcribed to text
• Audio recordings - Audio uploaded for transient self-hosted transcription; pending mobile recordings are stored locally until confirmed application of the result or discard
• Audio duration - Length of your recorded responses
• AI-generated feedback - Scores, suggestions, and analysis of your responses

Quiz mode was retired in August 2026. No new quiz data is collected. Quiz sessions and answers that still exist are deleted together with the feature's removal from the Service; until then they remain covered by the export and deletion rights below.

Technical and Usage Data

We automatically collect:

• IP address - For security and audit purposes
• User agent - Browser and device information
• Request logs - API access patterns for service operation
• Timestamps - When actions occur within the Service

Local Storage

Our frontend application uses browser local storage to:

• Maintain authentication state
• Store user preferences (such as theme settings)

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

1. Provide the Service - Process your resume and job descriptions to generate personalized interview questions
2. Generate AI feedback - Analyze your responses to provide improvement suggestions
3. Transcribe audio - Convert your spoken answers to text for analysis
4. Improve your experience - Track your progress and provide performance reports
5. Maintain security - Detect and prevent unauthorized access through audit logging
6. Communicate with you - Send service-related notifications via email when necessary

AI and Automated Processing

Intrvuer uses artificial intelligence to power its core features. Here's how your data is processed:

Large Language Models (LLMs)

We use LLM providers to:

• Parse and analyze resume content
• Generate interview questions tailored to your background and target job
• Evaluate your responses and provide feedback
• Generate improvement suggestions

LLM Providers:

• OpenAI (resume text extraction, feedback, and fallback question generation)
• Groq (question generation and job-description analysis; OpenAI fallback)

Data sent to LLMs:

• Resume content (parsed text, not files)
• Job description text
• Your interview responses
• Question context

LLM providers process this data according to their respective privacy policies. We do not send raw personal identifiers (like email addresses) to LLMs unless they appear in your resume content.

Speech processing on Intrvuer’s servers

With voice-processing permission, recordings leave your device and are processed on Intrvuer’s servers, hosted by Hetzner. Faster-whisper transcribes them; Kokoro generates spoken questions. Audio and question text do not go to an external speech API. The model authors do not receive your data merely because we run their models.

Server audio is used transiently for transcription and is not written to permanent storage. Transcripts and interview feedback are stored in your account. On mobile, pending recordings are stored on your device until the server has accepted the answer and the app has applied the result, or you discard it. Unsent web recordings remain in the open interview and may be lost when you close or reload it.

Your explicit choices

AI interview preparation and voice processing are separate remembered permissions, in addition to device microphone permission. We ask after local resume selection and validation, before uploading, and before a voice session. Declining or dismissing keeps setup, history, Settings, export and deletion available.

Review or withdraw under Settings → Data & Privacy. Withdrawal stops future processing and automatic retries. It cannot recall a request already sent. Pending mobile recordings remain available for deliberate retry after renewed permission, or discard. An expanded purpose, recipient list or data category requires a new disclosure and permission.

We do not train models on your recordings or text. Resume extraction requests disable OpenAI response storage. This does not eliminate provider security retention: OpenAI abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days, and Groq may retain reliability or abuse logs for up to 30 days, subject to provider controls and legal requirements. We do not promise zero provider retention.

See OpenAI data controls and Groq data controls. Removing an earlier provider does not erase previous submissions; contact support for historical deletion requests and applicable limits.

Cookies and Tracking

Our Service uses:

• Session cookies - Managed by our authentication provider (Supabase) for maintaining login state
• Local storage - For persisting user preferences client-side

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

Data Retention

We retain your data according to the following schedule:

You may request deletion of your data at any time (see "Your Rights" below).

Data Security

We implement security measures to protect your information:

• Encryption in transit - All data transmitted via HTTPS/TLS
• Field-level encryption - Sensitive data (resume content, transcripts, feedback) can be encrypted at rest using AES-128-CBC with HMAC (Fernet)
• Password security - Authentication handled by Supabase with industry-standard practices
• Access controls - JWT-based authentication with token expiration
• Audit logging - User actions are logged for security monitoring
• Database security - SSL connections supported for database access

Children's Privacy

Intrvuer is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. When we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure your information receives adequate protection. AI-provider transfers require the explicit AI permission permission described above; using the Service alone does not grant that permission.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

Access Your Data

You can export a copy of all your personal data, including your resumes and interview transcripts, in a machine-readable format (JSON or ZIP). This option is available in your Account Settings under the "Data & Privacy" section.

Correct Your Data

You can update your profile information and upload new resumes to replace outdated information.

Delete Your Data

You can request deletion of your data through your Account Settings:

• Individual resumes - Remove specific resumes from the Resume Management section
• All your data - Use the "Delete Account" option in the Data & Privacy section

Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Upon deletion:

• All resumes and their files are removed
• All interview sessions are deleted
• All job descriptions are removed
• A minimal deletion audit may be retained for compliance. Account-bound consent history is included in export and removed with account data. Backup expiry and provider retention can limit immediate deletion outside active systems

Data Portability

You can export your data in machine-readable JSON format using the export feature in your Account Settings.

View Retention Policy

You can view the current data retention settings applicable to your account in the Data & Privacy section of your Account Settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

• Posting the new policy on this page
• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top
• Sending an email notification for material changes (if we have your email)

We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
